Statement
Jimena Poblano’s interdisciplinary practice merges a combination of analog mediums, integrating painting with digital processes. Her work is an explorative response rooted in futurism and post-human ideas surrounding the body, the environment and its intersections on our interpersonal relationships. Her work aims to utilize materials and mediums, creating allegories in materiality, bringing digital and virtual “realities” to the physical world through a contemporary lens. Her portfolio includes painting, printmaking, installation and wearable works constantly being meditations on post-human ideals. It aims to represent the aesthetics of futurism, eco-sexuality and its relevance in shaping alternative futures.
